Common questions
How do I find someone?
Tap the new chat button, then search for their exact username, email address or phone number, or scan their friend code. People you have already messaged appear in your contacts and can be searched by part of their name.
How do I report or block someone?
Press and hold a message and choose Report. To block someone, press and hold their conversation in the chat list and choose Block and report. Reports are reviewed by our team.
How do I change a chat's encryption?
Tap the name at the top of a conversation, then choose Chat encryption.
How do I manage Crypta Premium?
Subscriptions are managed in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Use Restore Purchases in Crypta Settings after reinstalling.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings in Crypta and choose Delete account. This permanently removes your profile and the messages you sent.

How do I lock a chat?
Press and hold the chat in your list and choose Lock chat. Locked chats move into a Locked chats row at the top of your list, which opens with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.
How do disappearing messages and view-once photos work?
Tap the name at the top of a chat and choose Disappearing messages to set a timer. To send a view-once photo, add a photo and tap View once before sending. Someone can still photograph their screen with another device.
How do I send later or with an effect?
Type your message, then press and hold the send button to choose Send later or an effect such as confetti or fireworks.
Where are a chat's photos and files?
Tap the name at the top of a chat and choose Media, files and voice, or press and hold a photo and choose Show in media library.
How do I get reminded about a message?
Press and hold the message, choose Remind me and pick a time. The reminder says only that a message is waiting, never what it says.
What is Ghost mode?
Turn it on in Settings or Control Center. You can read messages without sending read receipts, and your typing and online status are hidden.
